Dr Aaron Nichols, OD
Clinical Optometrist
Dr Nichols graduated with a bachelor degree from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI and then completed his Optometry qualifications at the Illinois College of Optometry.
After graduation, he completed a residency in Vision therapy and Neuro-Rehabilitation in Southport, CT at EyeCare Associates with Dr. Randy Schulman. The residency program is a proud partner of the State University of New York Optometry School (SUNY).
During this year of advanced training he took special interest in concussion, stroke, and learning disability patients.
Dr Nichols is an active member of the American Academy of Optometry, COVD, OEP, and the College of Syntonic Optometry and enjoys educating and lecturing on traumatic brain injury and optometric phototherapy (syntonics).
Dr Nichols created a team of optometrists across the US to initiate research in the area of optometric Phototherapy: The Optometric Phototherapy Investigator Team (O.P.I.T) and has a published article in the COVD journal.
Dr. Nichols has joined Excel Neuro-Optometic Clinic after completing his residency in Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation and Vision Therapy.
He has worked with many patients ranging from infants to elderly patients. He has helped children with strabismus (eye turns) and amblyopia (lazy eye), as well as adults with concussion and stroke.
