My name is Dr. Gloria “Stephanie” Enriquez. I am originally from Perry, Iowa but am very excited and honored to now be a member of the Fenton, Michigan area. I graduated from Perry High School in 2006 and then attended The University of Iowa where I graduated with a bachelors of arts in biology in 2010. The next four years of my education were spent at The InterAmerican Univeristy of Puerto Rico where I Graduated as a Doctor of Optometry in the Spring of 2015.

EDUCATION: During my time at The University of Iowa I was fortunate enough to work with The University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology researching various ocular conditions including Age Related Macular Degeneration and Retinitis Pigmentosa. I was able to further my knowledge base on these and various other conditions through my four years in Optometry School. In my final year I had the opportunity to Intern at nine different clinics with various specialties, these include private practice, an optometry/ophthalmology ocular disease practice, primary care, geriatrics, contact lenses, and electro diagnostics.

My Passion in Optometry: I was fortunate enough to be able to spend some time working specifically with pediatrics and vision therapy, which has become a great passion of mine in the optometry field. Vision is more than just the ability to see 20/20, it includes eye teaming, tracking, focusing and visual perception or our ability to interpret visual information. It has been found that 25% of children have an undiagnosed vision problem that can lead to academic or behavioral problems and many of these problems will not be caught in a school vision screening, I believe in the importance of a comprehensive eye examination to be able to treat these visual problems early in a child’s development, which is why I am a provider of the Infantsee program, this program allows for comprehensive eye examinations at no cost for INFANTS 6- 12 months of age. Often times the symptoms of learning-related vision problems can be overlooked and with my training in this area I aim to give your child the most comprehensive care possible.
