Our doctors and staff at Aspire Vision Care strive to provide the finest in optometry services. Aspire Vision Care is a full-service eye and vision care provider and will take both eye emergencies as well as scheduled appointments.
Drs. Guenthner and Lumby and our staff are dedicated to keeping our patients comfortable and well-informed at all times.
We passionately care for every member of the family, from infants to great-grandparents and everyone in between. Our services include;

What sets Aspire Vision Care apart is our specialty clinic, Aspire Vision Training Center, where we have the ability to provide developmental vision evaluations and vision therapy to struggling children and adults.
Our Team
Carissa Lumby, OD
Dr. Carissa Lumby is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and is a certified Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Lumby graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO). She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, Central Texas Optometric Association, and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Lumby enjoys working with patients of all ages. She was awarded a Contact Lens Clinical Excellence Award by UHCO and fits various contact lenses including soft, toric, multifocal, gas permeable, hybrid, and scleral lenses. She manages ocular conditions such as ocular allergies, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. She has a special interest in the treatment of dry eye syndrome, which she has published research on. She spent one of her clinical rotations co-managing refractive surgery (such as LASIK) and cataract surgery.
In her free time Dr. Lumby likes playing tennis, cooking, reading, and crafting and DIY projects. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and their two cats, Merry and Pippin. She looks forward to taking care of you and your family at your next appointment!
Nancy Guenthner, OD, FCOVD
Dr. Nancy Guenthner (pronounced “Get-ner”) is the Developmental Optometrist at Aspire Vision Care. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with High Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Nancy went on to attend the University of Houston College of Optometry where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Doctor of Optometry degree. She is Board Certified in Vision Development and Vision Therapy and has over 200 hours of continuing education in this field.
Dr. Nancy and her husband, Chris, founded Aspire Vision Care in 2010. Dr. Nancy has a passion for helping children and adults that have vision problems that affect their ability to read and learn. She has been involved in this area of optometry for over 15 years and after seeing the children’s lives changed through Vision Therapy, she knew this was what she was meant to do in life!
Dr. Nancy is very involved in her profession and the community. She is a member of the Central Texas Optometric Society, College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and Optometric Extension Program Foundation. She is also actively involved in the Rotary Club of Round Rock and is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Round Rock. Dr. Nancy and Chris live in Round Rock with their son, Nicholas, and two daughters, Grace and Emily.
Allison Jussel Zagst, OD, MS
Dr. Jussel is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She recently completed a residency program in Cornea and Contact Lens at the University of Missouri- St Louis and specializes in fitting specialty contact lenses such as Scleral lenses, Gas Permeable Lenses and Ortho-K. Dr. Jussel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry with her Doctor of Optometry and concurrently earned a Master of Science in Vision Science. Her Master’s thesis involved clinical research in Diabetic Retinopathy. Before optometry school, she graduated from Texas A&M University with her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Biology, and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. Dr. Jussel works with patients of all ages and is especially passionate about specialty contact lenses, myopia management, dry eye syndrome, and ocular disease.
As an Austin native and alumna of Westwood High School, she is excited to be back in the north Austin area! On weekends you can find her exploring hiking trails, trying new coffee shops, and spending time at the lake with her family. Dr Jussel returns to Austin with her husband, Jake, and their two rescue animals- a Great Pyrenees, Cooper, and a cat, Sebastian.
