Welcome to the Optometric office of Dr. Catherine Kennedy in Burlington. Dr. Kennedy and her team strive to offer the best in Optometric Vision Therapy services. Our vision therapy services include a variety of non-invasive therapeutic techniques to improve vision and resolve visual issues. Both children and adults can suffer from visual problems that hinder activities like reading, schoolwork, athletic performance, and more. Dr. Kennedy provides unique custom-designed Vision Therapy solutions for individuals who suffer from various visual conditions.

Dr. Catherine Kennedy is a board certified Developmental Optometrist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of learning related vision problems, "lazy" eye, visual developmental delays, and visual disturbances interfering with efficiency at school, work, and sports.

There is more to vision than 20/20. Some vision problems cannot be solved with glasses alone but are best treated with Vision Therapy. Optometric Vision Therapy is the science and practice of developing visual abilities to achieve optimal performance and comfort involving fixation, eye movement control, focusing, and eye teaming, as well as visual perception and visual information processing.

Catherine A. Kennedy, OD, FCOVD is a 1978 honors graduate of the New England College of Optometry and has been providing Vision Therapy services in metro Boston for over 35 years. She is a developmental and behavioral optometrist with extensive experience in learning related vision problems, 'lazy' eye, developmental delays, vision rehabilitation, and vision enhancement therapy for efficiency at work and sports.

Dr. Kennedy received training in behavioral optometry at the Gesell Institute of Human Development in New Haven. She is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, an organization devoted to assure the provision of quality behavioral vision care, and past member of the International Examining and Certification Board. Dr. Kennedy is an associate of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation, chairs its annual Northeast Congress of Optometry educational meeting, and leads a study group for optometrists looking to further their knowledge of Vision and Vision Therapy. She is adjunct clinical faculty of the New England College of Optometry, a member of the Sports Vision Section of the American Optometric Association and is past member of the executive board of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists.

Dr. Kennedy has presented seminars for parents, teachers, occupational therapists, and doctors of optometry on Children's Vision, Vision and Learning, Optometric Vision Care, and Vision Therapy.

Sari R. Schwartz OD received her Doctorate in Optometry from New England College of Optometry (NECO) in 2017 where she achieved clinical honors. Upon graduation, Dr. Schwartz continued to develop her training and education by completing a residency at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, specializing in Vision Therapy, Pediatrics, and Rehabilitation. She is a 2012 graduate of Bucknell University, with degrees in Neuroscience and Spanish.  


While studying at NECO, Dr. Schwartz was the recipient of The Good-Lite Award for Excellence in Pediatric Optometry and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) Excellence in Vision Therapy Award. She served as President of the COVD NECO Student Chapter, and Teaching Assistant for the Binocular and Accommodative Anomalies course. Dr. Schwartz is a member of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), COVD, Optometric Extension Program Foundation, and the American Optometric Association, and is currently in the process of pursuing fellowships in the AAO and COVD.


Dr. Schwartz has a passion for giving back to the community. She has served as Fundraising Executive for Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity, has been on Optometric mission trips to Columbia and the Dominican Republic, and has participated in many community outreach programs. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with her puppy.
