Robert L. Block, MD
With a distinguished career spanning decades, Dr. Block is not just a skilled cataract surgeon but a trailblazer in adopting cutting-edge technology, reshaping the landscape of vision care.
In 1998, Dr. Block embraced progress as an early adopter of advanced technology lens implants. His journey into innovation began with the Array Intraocular Lens (IOL), paving the way for groundbreaking advancements in vision correction. Driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, he introduced the STAAR® Toric IOL in 2003 and pioneered using aspheric lenses in 2004. Dr. Block's commitment to pushing the boundaries of possibility continued as he implanted the ReSTOR multifocal lens in 2005 and the Toric lens in 2007, making significant strides in multifocal vision solutions.
Beyond his pioneering surgical skills, Dr. Block is an educator, serving as an Associate Professor of Surgery at the esteemed Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.
Dr. Block's expertise spans a wide spectrum of ophthalmic specialties. He specializes in advanced technology lens implants, refractive lens exchange, eyelid surgery, dry eye treatments, glaucoma management, and surgical correction of presbyopia.
