Dr. Sapossnek is an Optometrist in Jenkintown providing specialty neuro-visual exams and vision therapy for the surrounding communities. Dr. Robin Sapossnek grew up in Queens, NY. Having good eyes throughout her school years, Dr. Sapossnek developed an interest in optometry as a Biology major in Queens College, on the pre-med track. " I was always good at science and math, and even loved physics and organic chemistry in college! I learned about Optometry from a family friend who thought the world of their optometist, Dr. Yvonne Babenau, who became my role model." Dr. Sapossnek graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY), State College of Optometry in 1981 and received her Doctor of Optometry degree (O.D.). " My education certainly did not end once I graduated from SUNY. I attend at least 50 hours a year of continuing education credits annually, although the state requirement is half of that. I love learning and sharing with my patients. I've come to understand vision as a whole process involving not just the eyes but the whole body and brain which depends on normal development and health." "I am most proud of attaining the status of Neuro Optometric Rehabilitation Association (FNORA). The process of fellowship deepened my understanding of how the visual system is affected by neurological insult and how best to rehabilitate a person's visual skills after head trauma, stroke and other neurological conditions." "Helping people improve their vision through standard and holistic methods has been extremely rewarding and humbling to me. I learn from my patients everyday to be a better doctor and a better person. I believe it is important to really communicate with the goal of understand my patients in order to help them best." Dr. Sapossnek practices what she preaches about living a healthy lifestyle which includes healthy eating and conciously balancing her life. Strength and flexibility exercises keep her in shape for her passion, Ballroom dancing! She is an active member of many optometric associations, including:
  • Philadelphia County Optometric Society
  • Pennsylvania Optometric Association
  • American Optometric Association
  • College of Syntonic Optometry
  • Ocular Nutrition Society
  • Optometric Extension Program
  • College of Optometrists in Vision Development
  • Neuro Optometric Rehabilitative Association
Through memberships in these various groups she participates with continuing education in ocular and general health, vision development, vision rehab including low vision and nutrition.

Dr Sapossnek is extremely talented in this area of Neuro optometry. I came in with tunnel vision and symptoms from multiple concussions :her color therapy and vision therapy has increased my field of vision to normal and is decreasing the post concussion symptoms as well. Her careful assessment for the correct lens prescription made a huge difference, for example when I walked with my current glasses I had balance issues and was falling to the left, when I put on her prescription glasses I could walk without any balance problems. I highly recommend her brilliant expertise.

I'm only two months into a six-month course and I have already seen marked improvements. My up-close issues have totally resolved and I'm making great strides on my distance problems. Dr S is a wonder, patient, kind, knowledgeable practitioner (and she has a great sense of humor!) I was flippantly told by opthos that VT was a waste of time, but this has left me with so much confidence in the methodology. While they don't accept insurance, the office manager is very helpful in guiding you how to produce out-of-network claims to your insurance. For Philly people, the Rydal station on the West Trenton Line is located across the street form the shopping center. It's a very easy 45 minute ride. Can't recommend more!

Dr. Robin is compassionate and thorough. She is thoughtful and looks at the WHOLE person, not just your eye sight. If you have concussions and chronic illness, she helps give resources and refers other supports to make sure all of your head, neck, and concussion issues are supported. She has a team approach and ways to problem-solve, and integrates the parasympathetic nervous system that is greatly impacted by head injuries.
